Salvaterra was founded in 2014 by a visionary and tenacious group of businessmen who invested their skills, resources, and experience in this project.
Over the years, we have developed a keen awareness of how significant our wines have become thanks to our in-depth knowledge of the Valpolicella region, and our experience in the selection and marketing of fine wines.
Today, we are a well-known, high-quality label with a wide range of carefully selected, excellent wines, offering our customers the best of Venetian wine culture.
Salvaterra is based in Villa Giona, a historical, sixteenth century residence, which is among the most attractive in the Valpolicella Classica valley.
A perfect, living representation of the land on which it was built, the villa is encircled by cypresses, olive trees, dry stone walls, and vineyards and is home to an ancient wine cellar where the ageing of Amarone and Valpolicella Ripasso wines takes place.
The rooms that were once used as a greenhouse, and later a winery, are now the shop and the tasting room, decorated and furnished in recovered natural materials.
As well as creating the space we needed to produce our wines, we have also been careful to preserve the original beauty of the external and internal areas, consolidating the role that Salvaterra has taken on, over the years, as a guardian of public assets.
Tenute Salvaterra wines are the very heart and essence of this project. The company’s close bond with the Valpolicella Classica valley, its tradition, and the uniqueness of its clay and marl soils, is reflected in our red wines.

We offer a tour with wine tasting that includes a visit to the garden of Villa Giona, an historic villa from the 16th century, the vineyard and a visit to our ageing cellar.
At the end of the tour you can taste six of our most representative wines, all accompanied by our local products , cold cuts and cheeses from the award-winning shop Sapori del portico and artisanal breadsticks.

Anna was one of the best sommelier ever, explained all the basics around wine production and consumption. Her English were excellent and she answered all of our questions.
The facilities are excellent and in a perfect location.
The wine variety is really good and there is the possibility to order and send to your home country.
Tip: when you finish with the tasting visit villa Giona for a drink or some food. Also, amazing location
